Letter from Alana
How are you? Are you having fun there? If not, I am writing this letter to encourage you to keep doing your best. I appreciate your work for me, my family, and America. Do you have a pet? I used to. We had three mice, Luna, Tina, and Rose. Before them we had fish. They did not live very long. And before them we had a cat. I do not remember Tommy. We were in Texas and I was three when we left him in Texas because we could not bring him to California and gave him to two college roommates. Have a nice day!
Love, Alana
Dear Alana,
I am Senior Airman Natoiya Franklin, but you can call me Toiya! I’m doing great out here. Some days it can be really hot and some cold. It’s kind of weird because I’m in the desert and it gets cold. Weird right? I am having fun out here though. I visited Dubai. I’ve been to a bunch of malls. They are huge here. I’ve been to a camel farm which was cool too! How are you? How’s Germany? I wanted to get stationed there! I love the candy hippos I think they are called. Do you like it too? I’m sorry to hear about your animals, I bet they were cool. I used to have a pet hamster; his name was biscuit. I got him while I was stationed in Japan. He passed away too. I have a pet dog back home with my mom. His name is Colby and she’s been watching him since I joined the military in two thousand sixteen. I miss him and my family a lot. I know I write a lot, I’m sorry, I do miss them a lot, this is my fourth Christmas without them. Christmas twenty-twenty I hung up Christmas lights in my bunk area, so it helps a little. I meant to tell you that my dog is a black and white shih-poo (shih-tzu poodle mix). What are some of your New Year’s resolutions, if you have any? How old are you? Also, what grade are you in? Have you watched Disney plus? I greatly appreciate the encouragement! It means a lot! As well as your support! Happy Holidays! Happy New Year!
Your Pen Pal, Toiya
