Steps for a child

For kids 
  1. Write a letter to a Service Member downrange.
    Tell them a little about you and don’t be afraid to ask questions!Please remember to put a return address so you can get a letter back.

  2. Mail your letter to: Pen Pal Program
    c/o Stars and Stripes,
    APO AE 09211-9480    Your letter will be on website!
  3. Check online to see if your letter has posted and be on the lookout for a response letter!

Steps for a Service Member

For service members  
  1. Receive a letter while downrange or respond to one of the letters on the website. Download one of our letter forms to help get started. Template #1, Template #2, Template #3, or Template #4

  2. Make sure you note which letter you are responding to by adding the code from the child’s letter and mail your letter to:Stars and Stripes
    ATTN: PENPAL #(Unique Code here)

    APO AE 09211–09480    Your letter will be on website!
  3. Check online to see if you letter has posted and there could even be a response letter.
